Gerhard Schmidt was born in Heidelberg, Germany 1935. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and moved to Switzerlabd in 1962, working 40 years for ABB. 

Gerhard Schmidt is a lifelong passionate amateur photographer, starting his hobby over 70 years ago with his first camera, an AgfaBox (6x9 analogue). Now he uses a Fujifilm X100v, an ideal camera for street photography.
